I live in Jackson Heights, and I’m familiar with the deconstructivist abode on the west side of the BQE Samuel Medina rhapsodized about in his article “Affable Grotesques” (about Rafael Herrin-Ferri’s 2022 guidebook, All the Queens Houses, and which appeared in NYRA #37). I wonder if he’s seen the nearby faux Gehry on Thirty-Second Avenue by Sixtieth Street? I hope this is a trend. What next? A Michael Graves two-flat? A Zaha Hadid ranch?
